Starting with the winter schedule low cost carrier easyJet operates six new routes from Switzerland as follows: Basel - Brussels from 28Oct12 up to 6 x weekly Basel - Budapest from 28Oct12 up to 4 x weekly Basel - Manchester from 29 Oct12 up to 4 x weekly Geneva - London Southend from 14Dec12 up to 3 x weekly (seasonal) Geneva - Seville from 21Feb13 up to 3 x weekly.
easyJet launches two new routes from Basel. Flights from Basel to Catania will be operated twice a week starting on 31 March 2013. Basel - Antalya will be served seasonally twice a week from 02 April to 01 November 2013.
The Canary Islands are currently served by easyJet from Basel with two weekly flights to Las Palmas. As of Dezember 2011 easyJet will start new routes from Basle to the Canary Islands as follows: From 16 Dezember 2011: Basel - Tenerife, 2 x per week (Tuesdays, Fridays) From 19 Dezember 2011: Basel - Fuerteventura, 1 x per week (Mondays)
Swiss International Air Lines has announced a saisonal flight connection from Basel (BSL) to Nice (NCE) from 01 July to 22 August 2011. Flights will take place four times a week on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. As the flights on Thursday and Friday take place in the morning and the flights on Sunday and Monday take place in the evening the new route is very attractive to leisure travellers seeking a weekend break on the French Riviera / Côte d'Azur. The prices are (still) very attractive and the flights are open for sale as of 17 March 2011.
Air Berlin announced today that the winter flights from Switzerland to the Canary Islands and Madeira have been opened for sale. The winter schedule starts on 01 November 2011 and ends on 01 April 2012.
AB winter flights 2011/12 to the Canary Islands and Madeira from Switzerland: From Zürich: Gran Canaria (LPA), Fuerteventura (FUE), Lanzarote (ACE), Tenerife (TFS) and Madeira (FNC). From Basle: Gran Canaria (LPA), Tenerife (TFS) and Fuerteventura (FUE).
With the summer time schedule starting 27 March 2011 Sswiss International Air Lines will start new connections from Basle to:
Rome Fiumicino (FCO), once daily.
6 times a week to Copenhagen (CPH), daily except on Saturdays.
Monday - Friday 3 times daily (Sa,Su 2 x daily) to London Heathrow (LHR) - operated by bmi British Midland in code share with Swiss.
In addition the flight frequencies from Basel to Manchester (code share with bmi), Barcelona and Hamburg will be increased. The flights Basel - Warsaw and Basel - London City (LCY) will be discontinued after 27 March 2011.
